Welcome to Adulting with Care!

My name is Cari (pronounced like Carrie), but all the people closest to me call me Care. Since you are here and a part of this journey, you are welcome to do the same!

So why this website? Why now? What is this all about?

Why this website?

Adulting with Care has been a dream of mine for over ten years. After leaving home for college, and then after graduating from college, I found there were a lot of things in life that school didn't prepare you for, or life lessons that weren't to you before you experienced something negative. I thought, hey! Why don't we have a resource for all of those things we've collectively learned "the hard way" - and it doesn't have to be difficult for everyone.

This is a conglomeration of life hacks, anecdotal fails, and how-to's for Adulting together gracefully and with Care. I will have three main categories of content - Adulting, Parenting, and Budgeting - and I will tag and file accordingly.

Obviously, in my mid-thirties - I haven't experienced it all yet. If you read through the sections and resources here and find you didn't get your topic addressed or answered, PLEASE feel free to reach out to me with specific questions and scenarios, or general topic suggestions. I have a backlog of over two hundred things to cover- so hearing from you will help me prioritize! Feel free to email me at info@adultingwithcare.com Any suggested topics covered will include a shout-out to the requestor, if so desired.

Why now?

Well. If not now, then when?! I am a daughter, sister, wife, mother of 2, graduate student, church volunteer, and accounting professional. Why would I want to add this to my plate? In hopes that it will take other things off my plate. As of today, I am on leave from work because balancing it all is way too much - another adulting thing no one ever told us. So how do we find the right balance for all of us, and make a survivable wage that supports our families and our dreams? This is my attempt! Thank you for joining me!

What is this all about?

Adulting together - whether you are a late teen, young adult, college student, college graduate, professional, or retiree- there is a lot we can learn from each other, and no one is ever done learning.

If there is an easier way to do something, WE WANT TO KNOW! We want to save time, energy, resources, etc.! We want to use our precious resources doing the things we LOVE!

For me, that is writing. That is helping others. That is encouraging others to learn and grow.

Welcome to Adulting with Care! I'm beyond ecstatic that you have decided to join me on this journey!
